The Arquebusier is an early unit available to every European faction except Russia. This unit has good armor, decent firepower, and morale but has a poor melee attack. They are exclusively trained at the Fort.

Historically, arquebusiers were the predecessors of Musketeers. They appeared in the 15th and 16th centuries, having fought in both European and American theatres. Ingame, they wear a round cap and a breastplate. They carry a matchlock as their primary weapon and have the ability to melee with a sword and buckler.

French Arquebusier[]

The French are able to recruit an alternate version of the Arquebusier with stronger melee attacks but overall fewer resistances, slightly less HP, and less Stormforce than their other European counterparts. To offset this, the French Arquebusier gets created twice as its ordinary European counterpart.
